Anne Marie Rooney was born and raised in New York City. She currently lives in Baltimore.

She is the author of No Beautiful and Spitshine. She has also created a commissioned artist’s book, Weather, Ritual, Black Stars, and written two chapbooks: The Buff, and Shell of an egg in an effort.

She has won the Iowa Review Award, the Gulf Coast Poetry Prize, the Amy Award, the Greg Grummer Poetry Award, the So to Speak Poetry Prize, and the Tupelo Broadside Prize.

Her writing has been featured on Verse Daily, Poetry DailyLambda Literary, The Feminist Wire, and The Awl, as well as in the Best American Poetry and Best New Poets anthologies.
